The Minutes for the
LINDA VISTA COMMUNITY PLANNING COMMITTEE
January 25, 1999

Ths Meeting was called to order by the Vice-Chair, Bob Williams at 7pm.

Roll Call: Present - Doug Beckham, Richard Brasher, Pat Buckmaster, Ken Devoe, Jim Horsley, Adrian Marine, Mel McKay, Ester McNulty, Mike O'Brien, Robert Spahitz, Liliani Stiffler, Bob Williams, Wane Bamford.

Absent & Excused: Mike Barton, Margaret Brown, Jo-Ann Carini, Pam Juarez, Ron Tomcek.

Linda Vista's Kearny High School Army Junior R.O.T.C. Color Guard Unit which is led by Jerry Ingram wasn't able to attend.

Legislative Aide's Comments and Announcements:
Marilyn Mirrasoul - Valerie Stallings' Office - Commented on Donations - trucks for the Tecolote Ranger. Animal shelter - new building with enclosed area where animals roam. Gas station site.

Man Phan - Barbara Warden's Office - Helped to create Head Start - Library. Thanked Miriam for the Linda Vista Planning Committee's new book. Commented on the Mesa College entrance expansion issue.

Old Business: Nancy from MTDB commented on the update of Napa St. and Linda Vista Rd. trolley station project. The developer, City Link representative, Mr. William Jones, was present to answer questions from the Linda Vista residents. Encouraged residents to attend workshops to find out more about the project.

Doug Beckham - commented on the Eastman Investments (the Blues) - alley vacation
between Fulton and Ulric Streets. Two motions passes.

1. Motion: Provided the applicant beginning immediately to implement all conditions set forth in the December 22, 1997 in Municipal Court of California, County of San Diego, San Diego Judicial District Stipulation # M735056CE, promoting to compliance with Chapter 10 Div. 8 of San Diego Municipal Code. 11 to 1 voted and motion passed.

2. Provided the applicant contact San Diego Police Dept. (DRO), Kim Newboldt, to develop and create a plan for a C.P.T.E.D. (crime prevention through environmental design), for property access and drive through. 12 to 0 and motion passed.

New Business: Discussion were made in regards to the U.S.D. Northeast Student Housing Conditional Use Permit Amendment and Office Park conditional Use Permit Amendment, with U.S.D. representative from U.S.D. was present to answer questions.

The minutes from December 1998 were approved.

Meeting adjourned at 9:30pm.
