LINDA VISTA COMMUNITY PLANNING COMMITTEE
February 22,1999

The meeting was called to order by the Vice-Chair, Bob Williams at 7pm.

Roll Call: Present: - Doug Beckham, Richard Brasher, Margaret Brown, Pat Buckmaster, Jo-Ann Carini, Ken Devoe, Pam Juarez, Arian Marine, Mel McKay, Ester McNulty, Ed Roth, Mike O'Brien, Rob Spahitz, Liliani Stiffler, Ron Tomcek, Bob Williams, Wayne Bamford, Bob Hursh.

Absent: Mike Barton (excused)

Presentation of Colors and Pledge of Allegiance provided by Linda Vista's Kearny High School Army Junior R.O.T.C. Color Unit led by Sgt. Jerry Ingram

Legislative Aides' Comments and Announcements:
Man Phan - Barbara Warden's Office - Updating the meeting of signs at Kelly and Comstock. Preparation for the Linda Vista's Cultural Fair is going strong and there will be a new item this year, the Miss Linda Vista Pageant Contest. Every young and old maiden is welcome to join!

Valerie Stallings was present. Marilyn Mirrasoul - Valerie Stallings' Office Update on the station progress. Household hazardous waste clean up. Traffic signal - housing committee will meet regarding this issue. Signals at Genesee and Richland were put on. Ms. Stallings commented on the issues of gangs and the ride along she participated at.

Proposed new Animal Shelter:
Prestation of slides of sites by Dennis Moser (chair of site selection). Also present was Ed Baker, acting director. Topics presented were, site selection - keep it where it is (Gaines St. site) or find publicly owned site, privately owned site to buy. Advantage to Linda Vista community and reduced killing of the animals, while promoting for more animal adoption.

Planning Committee Business: Volunteers from main committee to represent LVCPC at meeting for the new animal shelter. Ken Devoe and Wayne Bamford are the representatives.

Community Issues: Linda Vista clean-up will be on Saturday 10th of April at Kit Carson School from 8am - 10am.

Margaret Brown - treasurer - $174.46 in bank account.

Minutes of January 25, 1999 with corrections were approved.
Corrections - Ed Roth and Bob Hursh were present. Nancy from MTDB not NDBD Vista's Planning Committee's new book update and entrance to Mesa College parking lot expansion issue is the correction from Man Phan report. Comments on the Easement Investments -Provided the applicant contact San Diego Police Dept. (CRO) not ORO.

Meeting adjourned at 9pm.
