APRIL 26,1999
Roll Call: Call to order at 7 p.m. All present except Mike Barton who came in late, Margaret Brown (excused).
Pledge of allegiance provided by Linda Vista's Kearny High School Army Junior R.O.T.C. and Color Guard Unit Red by Sgt. Jerry Ingram.
Bob William presided for the Chair at the beginning of the meeting.
Marilyn Mirrasoul (Valerie Stallings' office)- discussion of fiber optics cables. Maintenance plan for Linda Vista Road. Overview Aero to Mesa College Dr. Mesa College to Genesee. Clean-up was successful.
Man Phan - Stalling's office:
Questions were asked about eucalyptus trees along Linda Vista Road and Navy housing. Concern about trees blowing down and litigation, street and sidewalk destruction. New trees will be planted. Bob Williams has been in contact with Navy construction office, and they will comply with street landscape plans. Curb cuts for disabled across - money in next fiscal year. ADA representative with City says curb cuts should be done immediately. Enforced through code compliance.
Bayside Settlement House: NBHD survey completed
Police Officers: Sgt. Edgar introduced new officers in to Department who will be working with Linda Vista. Gang (LV13) - a little more active at the area at this time.
Public Comments: New speed limit - 25 mph at certain streets as a result of the death of one citizen recently- refer to the memoradum from Valerie Stallings' Office. Traffics signs and pavement marking updates. Request for turf fields - joint use agreement being reviewed - school district, park and rec. - maintenance issues.
Jo-Ann Carini - April 10 cleanup.
Linda Vista Water Improvement Project: John Qsar - Project Engineer - Update for installation of watermains. Ped. Ramps will be installed and some street resurfacing as part of work. Phone number for Linh (engineer) 627-3284.
Member at large Election: Election Committee- Rob Spahitz, Pat Buckmaster, Ken Devoe.
Voting Results: Mel McKay - 31, Don Armitage - 28, Alfrieda Jackson 20, Jim Horsley 19, Don Ballantine 18.
