Altogether attendance - 36.
Review/approval of previous minutes: It was moved to next meeting Correction on minutes of May 26th - motion to table to next meeting but motion was made to accept minutes as amended - motion passed.
Public Comment and Non-agenda Items: A representative from the Mobile Home Park at Mission Bay Park was asking the committee members for their support in their- campaign Mike O'Brien responded with the information that the committee in not directly involved in that project but four committee members voiced their- support. Roger Fuller- 1671 Coolidge - Stop sign on Howe/Coolidge St. and Pat Buckmaster responded that City will put stop sign when new striping of double yellow lines around school or when resident on the community requested. Pat also showed concern about the activities that are going to be held at USD at the University's 50th Anniversary, the slurry seal at Linda Vista Road must continue to Napa St., she was supported by Wayne Bamford who said that in order to make it last, the road needs to be in good shape first Motion was made for Chair/Board to send letter requesting the extension of work to lower part of the road, to Valerie Stallings' Office. Gary Pence - information why sign was not put on. Tecolote Canyon and USD a motion to send a letter to Valerie Stalllings' Office, USD, and City of San Diego regarding the run-off from USD's property which is causing new channels at the Canyon, was requested by Pat Buckmaster and seconded by Jo-Ann Carini. Motion was approved by 8, opposed - 2, abstained - 3.
Police Department: Sgt. Rick Schrell 619 - 692-4855 Code Compliance report beware of negative activities behind Bank of America because it is a popular place for gang members and homeless people.
Government Aids' Reports: Man Phan - meetings at CCPC to talk about downtown area redevelopment. Phase I - Old gas station - City Attorney is in progress. Phase II - Genesee Ave. project - Mr. Phan will report on pedestrians' pathway at end of Genesee Ave. Mike Barton - Will follow up on the landscaping at the Navy Housing. Jo-Ann - suggest to invite some Navy representative to informed committee on that issue. Bill Figge - Cal Trans. - will also check into the pedestrians' pathway to make sure that it is pedestrian friendly. Also he is trying to put together ways Cal. Trans. Can work together with the Community. Marilyn Mirrasoul - improvements - Tecolote Canyon has been selected for wet land project. Kelly Bingham - introduced herself-to the Committee. She is representing Brian Bilbray's Office.
Action Items: Sub-Committee Fulton Street - Please contact Mike O'Brien for more information. First motion - Meeting accept that sub-committee will issue the opinion of the CPC. Favor - 12, opposed - 2, abstain 2, Motion passed. Second motion - to accept the sub-committee recommendations to allow for the Gatling Court street vacation. Favor - anonymous. Motion was made by Doug Beckham and seconded by Mel McKay. Selection of North Bay Redevelopment - Mike Barton volunteered to be the representative. Motion select Mike Barton for- representative Favor 3 opposed - 11, another motion to table the selection of rep. - anonymous. Meeting adjourned at 9:25 p.m.
