Old Business -
- The $10 collected at the July meeting was presented to the treasurer, who was not at that meeting. The treasurer also received some board-related printing expense receipts.
- Each subcommittee, as defined in the June meeting, was presented to the group for additional volunteers. At the same time, a chair (and vice-chair as necessary) was indicated. Since some selected chairs were not present, they were designated as "chair pending acceptance." See the attached for a current list of subcommittees and members. This will be presented at future meetings for additional information on subcommittee statements-of-purpose.
- A letter developed by the (Morena/Linda Vista) Trolley subcommittee (i.e. the MTDB/Citylink project) was presented to the CPC. Motion made by Horsley to approve the letter with spelling corrections, seconded by Cole(?). Motion passed: 9 (for) - 0 (against) - 2 (abstain) (1 left early).
Board Announcements -
- The Civic Association guest speaker will be Dr. Dennis Brown, the principal of Kearny High School. The meeting will take place August 19 at 7:00pm at Friars Village.
- Bamford expressed concern over the speed of Amtrak trains passing through the Old Town trolley station at about 60 m.p.h. and was looking into slowing down the speed because someone was recently killed there by a train, and there is little protection between the trolley station and the Amtrak tracks.
- O'Brien requested that the corrected copy of the May Minutes be added to the LV library binder.
Adjournment - Special Meeting adjourned at 8:50 p.m. The Agenda subcommittee meeting started immediately afterward.
