Reports by Government Aides--one:
Marilyn Mirrasoul: Reported some on Permit Parking Ordinance, sited Baltimore Mt. study. Recommendations for Permit Parking in Silver Terrace area to solve parking problems caused by student overpopulation from USD and Trolley parking. she was reluctant to advise on the Transitional Housing project which was proposed for the only remaining park site in lower Linda Vista (site location across from the YMCA at Friars Road.) Neglected to mention the Housing project was scheduled for City Council hearing on Tuesday Nov 2, 1999. Assured us that Representative Valerie Stallings would support the LVCPC decision. LVCPC vote was 10 to retain the site as future park site, 0 for the Housing Project, 3 abstentions.
Sierra Club representative Liz Freirich gave a report on the City's intention to build access roads into our canyons, including Tecolote, for sewer repairs. Sewer lines are in need of repair. S.C. wants to find another way. They believe roads will damage canyons. They presented a flyer for a nature walk in Tecolote Canyon Nov. 13th. Committee voted 9 yes, 0 no, 1 abstain to support S.C.'s actions in canyon preservation.
Charles Johnson made a statement that the Planning Committee did not represent the minority population of Linda Vista then promptly left the meeting.
S.D. Police officers gave a presentation on their efforts to monitor Gaines Street for stop sign. Doug Beckham reported that the City says the site does not meet criteria for a stop sign.
Wayne Bamford gave a report on COMPACT. Issues were parking, traffic, and call boxes.
Gail Cole gave a report on the Morena Trolley site development project. Planning Committee not supportive of actions. Citizen Bob Williams wants the project to stay as is, parking problems and all.
Treasurer's report (Gail Cole): as of Oct 1st, $184.33 in the Checking account. $15 collected at the meeting, with $6 paid to JoAnn Carini for coffee and supplies, leaving $9 to deposit.

New Business: Alfrieda Jackson reported that the Linda Vista Clinic is giving flu shots every Wednesday between 1:00 and 4:00pm. 60-plus asked for donations; 65-&-older free. Clinic number is 279-0925. Board of Health is giving flu shots at Bayside Settlement House, phone 581-4300.
JoAnn Carini reminded us of the Parade of Flags on Nov. 11, Veteran's Day and asked for help with the flags.
