Minutes of Linda Vista Planning Committee for November 25, 2002
Meeting called to order by Chairperson Ed Cramer at 7:03 pm at Linda Vista Public Library.
Brownie Troop led presentation of Colors from Chesterton Elementary School
Roll call by Secretary Diemert absent was Stiffler, Richman, everyone else was present or excused.
38 people were present and $33.00 was collected for snacks etc.

Red curb painting is happening on Linda Vista Road
Reported on Morena Vista Mixed Use Project hearing at City Hall
SDG&E has not come forward with a plan on Lot at Gaines per Cecilia Williams
Louis Bishop requested parking for their property along Linda Vista Road by moving the bike lane from Family Circle to Daniel St.
Committee would like cost of stripping to be carried by owner. LVPC will await a report from the city.
Gary Stang reported on lack of action by City Real Estate Assets on Skateworld property

Marco Comacho reported on the LV public financing plan that is not in the Strategic Framework
Doug Beckham made a motion to set up a finance subcommittee to study the plan. Rick Bussel seconded it. Passed with no dissent. Marco’s number is 619-533-3686
Fashion Walk Project:
Steven Quinn and Eric Luna presented a plan to build 161 condos on Friars Road across from Fashion Valley. There was much discussion around the parking issue. The Zoning subcommittee recommended approval of the project. Rick Bussel made a motion to support the subcommittee report. Gail Cole seconded the motion. 5 voted to accept the subcommittee report and 8 voted not to accept the report. Doug Beckham made a motion to table the discussion to allow more time to study traffic implications. Don Wetzel seconded the motion. None opposed the motion.
Zoning Committee report: 5840 Gaines St. requested a map waiver. It is under review.
Map waiver for 5803 Riley Street was requested. Don Wetzel made motion to approve the map waiver. Wayne Bamford seconded the motion. 10 voted in favor of motion. It passed.
Tecolote Canyon committee. Remodeling of the Nature Center Rob add pertinent information here
Rick Bussel made a motion to write a letter to City Manager requesting an automatic extension for 3 years on the lease that Gary Stang holds on Skateworld property. Rob Spahitz seconded the motion. 8 voted in favor and 3 opposed.
