Secretary Grover Diemert conducted Roll Call. Janice Richmond, excused and Lilliani Stiffler were absent; everyone else was present or excused.
Deborah Borders, Community Policing Officer gave her report and asked that if anyone observed narcotic activity to call 619-531-2426. There is a growing number of new gang members coming of age.
Kevin Smith from District 6 office made his report. Additional funds have been allocated to Silver Terrace Park and approved by
Council. Mission Heights Park is back in business. Council approved Morena Vista project. He read Ms. Frye's comment as to why she
voted against the project.
Kevin was asked to call Traffic Dept. to get the traffic counts for the previously proposed roundabout. Cecilia Williams delivered
the Pilot Villages RFP
She also announced that SDG&E has submitted an application for preliminary review on their Gaines Street site.
Main Presentations:
Darlene Smith and associates informed community on the next sewer/water project in the Eastern Linda Vista area. Ron Tomcek asked
that the easements on abandoned sewer lines be cancelled and easements be returned to owner of record.
Tecolote Canyon Nature Center Expansion: Don Wetzel moved to approve the Expansion project, seconded by Rob Spahitz. Passed with no opposition.
Steve Quinn and Associates presented fashion Walk Project again.
The traffic committee chaired by Wayne Bamford made a motion to approve the project. Rick Bussell seconded the motion. All
approved
A second motion was made by Rick Bussel, seconded by Wayne Bamford to authorize the Chair to sign a petition addressed to Donna Frye concerning traffic issues around the site. The petition with one change in 6th line section b adds the word "east". All voted in favor of motion.
Skateworld: Gary Stang reported on lease for Skateworld property and thanked all for their support.
Election Committee chair Ron Tomcek announced that 11 position are up for election beginning in March.
North Bay Redevelopment project report. Don Ballantyne made a motion to request that the property known as "Pink Motel and surrounding area on Morena Blvd" be taken off the "list" of properties up for redevelopment in the North Bay Redevelopment District. Seconded by Wayne Bamford. 9 voted in favor and 3 were opposed.
Minutes of November meeting were approved with corrections to the spelling of Rick Bussell and Janice Richmond's names. Moved by Rob Spahitz and seconded by Rick Bussell. Passed with not opposition.
