Minutes of the Linda Vista Planning Committee
September 27,2004

Chair Ed Cramer called meeting to order at 7:05 p.m. on September 27, 2004

Presentation of Colors by Cub Scout Pack #278 sponsored by Peace Lutheran Church.

Roll call by Acting Secretary, Dianne Cramer.   All present except Gail Cole (excused), Greg Edwards (excused), Liliani Stiffler, and Don Wetzel.

Reports from Officer Deborah Borders, SDPD and Captain Stephen Linges, SDFD.  Captain Linges introduced members of the Linda Vista Fire Station.

Reports from Donna Ascano representing Mayor Murphy and Kevin Smith Councilmember Donna Frye.

Additional reports from Cecelia Williams, City Planning, Shiela Hardin, CCDC, Tom Cleary, USD and Sarah Granby, Linda Vista Civic Association, Rob Spahitz, Tecolote Canyon Committee, Grover Diemert, Bayside Community Center, and Doug Beckham, Linda Vista Recreation Council.

Main Presentation

Morena Vista Development update provided by Emmi Mclean and Leah Jones of City Link Development Corporation.

Linda Vista Development Project Area Agency presentation of Katz community survey conducted by Libby Day of the Agency.  After lengthy review and discussion, it was moved by Margarita Castro and seconded by JoAnn Carini to schedule a further review of the subject as the sole item on the October agenda for the Planning Committee.   Motion passed unanimously.

I-805/I-5 Corridor Study was presented by a working group from SANDAG.  The study reflected future traffic projections and suggested solutions.  Also included was an outline of the TRANSNET proposition on the coming November ballot.  Committee members offered multiple comments and suggestions.

Mesa College Extension history was outlined by Ron Tomcek and accompanied by aerial photographs showing ownership of the surrounding properties.  It was recommended that the Linda Vista Community Planning Committee proceed to reincorporate the area into the Linda Vista Planning Community Plan.  Cecelia Williams will follow up and advise the committee.

Minutes for the August 23, 2004 meeting were approved.
