MINUTES - LINDA VISTA COMMUNITY PLANNING COMMITTEE - February 28, 2005.

Meeting called to order at 7:05 p.m.

Main Presentation:
Ed Cramer explained that two items on the agenda would not be heard because the advocates were not ready with completed presentations: Linda Vista Baptist Church CUP
Kearny Market Liquor License Upgrade

San Diego City Water Reuse program was presented by Ron Coss. Outlined was the history and scope of water supplies for San Diego and how reuse should become more of a valuable addition. A survey was provided to members for their input.

The condition of a portion of Linda Vista Parks was reviewed with pictures provided by Wayne Bamford. A discussion followed as to ways and means that Mike Rodriguez could by better supported by the community and city. The condition of parks will again be taken up at the March meeting.

Ann Kern and Jacqueline Harris of the Housing Commission reviewed the annual and five year plans and distributed all relevant material to the committee and guests.

Carrol Vaughn, Chief Operating Officer of the Housing Commission explained the background of the University Canyon project in our district and how the Commission planned to slightly change the income level of the tenants gradually over the coming years. 

Tentative Map to convert 10 existing residential units to condominiums at 5722 Riley Street (Project #58027) was approved by a vote of 11 Yes, and 0 No.

Tentative Map to convert 20 existing residential units to condominiums at 2217 Burroughs Street (Project #61428) was approved with a strong recommendation that a Homeowners Association be required in the completed project. The vote was 11Yes, and 0 No.

The committee discussed changing the meeting time of the committee. A motion to change the meeting time to 6 p.m. was approved by vote of Yes 9, No 1, and Abstain 1. It was also suggested that the chair set time limits for each presentation in the future.
