Meeting on January 23, 2006

Meeting called to order by Chair Cramer at 6:02
Kearny High Complex color guard presented the colors and brief marching show

Roll Call: The following were absent: Greg Edwards, Xiongh Thao, Don Wetzel and Kathleen Morgan.  Fifteen members were present.  A quorum was declared. 

The following representative made short presentations:  Pari Sanati for Donna Frye, Jason Farran for Ron Roberts, Kirsten Clemons for Lori Saldana, Katherine Fortner for Susan Davis. 

Cecelia Williams, our planner announced that she has been promoted and introduced her replacement.  He is Marlon Pangilinan at 619-2356-5293
Libby Day reported on the progress of loans to residents from the funds earned by the redevelopment district.  Two are made and work completed has been completed
7 are out to bid and 5 apps are in process 

Tom Cleary spoke about activities at USD 

Agenda Items: 

Morena Blvd Parking Improvements: Doug Beckham moved and Wayne seconded the following motion: The Linda Vista Planning Committee approves the installation of 2 hour west side of street and 4 hour on East side of street parking limit signs on West Morena Boulevard from Buenos Avenue to Tecolote Road as outlined by wishes of the businesses affected.
Motion passed 12 in favor 1 opposed.

Fashion Walk Streetscape Modification on Ulric Street : The city and the applicant D.R. Horton requested that they not be required to install a 50 foot high wall along Ulric Street as turns into Friars Road . 

Doug Beckham made a motion that we support the modification of original plan by removing the 50 foot wall and instead install a chain link fence to keep rock of side walk and turn lane. Don Ballantyne seconded the motion.  It passed with a vote o 12 in favor and one opposed.

There was discussion on the re routing of route 25 in Linda Vista.  Ron Tomcek made a motion to table the issue until next board meeting.  Rick Bussell seconded the motion and it passed.

Mesa College Parking issue was once again brought up.  There will be more discussion on the topic at meeting on January 30 at 6 pm at the library.

There will be election of committee members will be at the March meeting. Please look for representative from various census tracts.
