Minutes of the Linda Vista Planning Committee
October 23, 2006

Meeting was called to order by Chair Ed Cramer at 6:06 pm at the Linda Vista Public Library.
Color guard from Kearny High School Complex led the group in the salute to the flag.

Roll call was conducted with all present except: Xiongh Thao and Gail Cole.  A quorum was declared.  There were 30 people in attendance

Sergeant Taylor and Officer Sharci introduced themselves as the Police presence in Linda Vista and provided the group with crime stats and answered questions

It was announced that Rosemary Ortega, a member of the planning committee, has been appointed to the Mayor’s Gang Commission.

Representatives from Donna Frye’s, Lori Saldana’s and Susan Davis’s office distributed information and made announcements.

A sub committee was formed to address the number of pigeons in the community that are multiplying because someone is feeding them left over bread etc.

A motion was made to reimburse Jo Anne Carini for the cost of copying agendas for the attendees at the planning meetings.

The dedication of the Morena Village will be November 2 at 9:30

Ester McNulty’s position was declared vacant due lack of attendance due to health issues.

Ron Tomcek nominated Donna Erickson to complete her term office.  Doug Beckham seconded the nomination.  There were no other candidates. All present voted for Donna Erickson to complete the term.

Action items:

T-Mobile request to install 16 antennas on the Maher building at USD (Project #93413 (08/14/06).  Don Ballantyne moved that the request be approved. Drew Corley seconded the motion. All voted in favor of the motion.

5648 Lauretta St. project  #102781 (6/20/06) Process 3  was not considered due to lack of required paper work from the Planning Dept.  Will be on next month’s agenda

Transportation committee Chair Donna Erickson requested that the committee draft a letter to MTS board indicating that the withdrawal of Bus 25 is a violation of our approved Community plan.  The letter will be drafted for approval at next meeting.

Doug Beckham moved that minutes of September 2006 meeting be approved. Jo Anne Carini seconded the motion. All voted to approve the motion
