Call to order by Rick Bussell at 6:04
Colors were presented and pledge of allegiance was conducted
Roll Call: the following were absent: Martin Ammerman, Wayne Bamford, Ron Tomcek, and Dixie Wilson. A quorum was declared.

LT Becky Bigbie was introduced by Western Division’s new Captain

All were invited to discuss possible new Civic Center.

Pari Sanati from Donna Fry’s office announced that general plan proposal will be held on March 10 at 2 pm.
March 28 will be Linda Vista Day for Council woman Frye at Bayside. Call Pari for an appointment
City attorney is working on the Thrift Village issue.
Denice Garcia is new representative of the Mayor’s office for Linda Vista

Melanie Cohn from Lori Saldana’s office passed out list of bills that Assemblywoman has introduced to the legislature.

Katherine Fortner announces that Susan Davis will speak at USD on March 1 at 10 am on her trip to Afghanistan.

Libby Day announced that the proposals for the corner property have been declined-they did not meet criteria of community plan.

Rick Bussell announced that the group needs to appoint a representative to the COMPACT.

Margarita Castro requested that something be done about traffic congestion between Osler and Marlesta on Genesee Ave. Cost would be 24.5 million. Do we want to add it as priority on Linda Vista Financing plan was the question.

Mr. Stewart presented information free websites for planning groups. He will make a presentation in the future. We already have a website thanks to Rob Spahitz.

Doug Beckham moved to approve January 2008 minutes with correction of Rick Bussell’s name.

HELP program changes: H.E.L.P. (Housing Enhancement Loan Program). The program uses redevelopment funds to improve housing stock in Linda Vista.
Changes recommended are raise amount of loan from $10,000 to $20,000. Housing eligible needs to be home built before 1980.
Doug Beckham moved to accept changes. Motion was seconded. Motion passed 14 in favor one opposed. Donna Erickson opposed because she though money could be better used for lower income people.

Information Items:
Mr. Anderson and Mr. Talia presented a preliminary plan for a market at corner of Linda Vista Road and Morena across from the Village.

Margarita Castro reported that parking requirements at 7052 Fulton Street that we voted on in January are sufficient for the project.

T-Mobile issue was not discussed.

There will be a neighborhood cleanup on February 28 around the Linbrook area.
Election of new members will be at March meeting. Will follow the current bylaws since the new bylaws have not been approved by city.

March 1 and 2 will be special days at the Animal shelter.
Barking lot sale on Sunday 12 to 4 pm.
